Without fine arts there are no fine minds.
The basic aim of the art classes at Camellia International School is to create an awareness and sensitivity to all aspects of the environment and grace in everyday life, to develop the inclination and capacity to understand what is good and desirable and what is wrong and undesirable, not only for the individual but for society as a whole. This is especially applicable to the young adolescents in our charge who start looking at the world as adults do.
Children are exposed to various disciplines in art (designing, architectural drawing, nature study). This will help them realize their own inclination to a particular aspect of art and shape his or her art expression.
Creativity is allowed free rein in the pottery class. One can observe small hands shaping clay into an amazing array of objects and figures under the watchful eye of the instructor. The students are taught slab and coil building methods to make simple bowls, human and animal figures, masks and murals.
